Safe Night's Mission:

The Safe Nights program is dedicated to protecting the homeless from the cold by providing shelter in a clean and safe environment.

The Safe Nights program brings together citizens from all faiths and civic organizations dedicated to a compassionate response to the plight of the homeless in Calvert County.

What Does Safe Nights Provide?

Host churches provide a warm cot and three nutritious meals (dinner, breakfast, and a bag lunch) within a safe environment.

Shelter Hours:

Shelters operate from 7pm to 7am daily during the winter months.  Exact dates may vary year to year.

Who Qualifies for Safe Nights?

Individuals Must:

  • Be homeless

  • Show identification

  • Be ambulatory and capable of caring for themselves

  • Be over 18 years of age, unless accompanied by a parent

  • Be drug and alcohol free

  • Pass a background check

  • Sign the guest shelter agreement and agree to abide by its provisions
